Leeds, managed by Daniel Farke, will face Southampton in the Championship playoff final next Sunday, with the winner gaining immediate promotion to the Premier League after both clubs were relegated last season.
This match will mark the conclusion of the domestic campaign, taking place a day after the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley.
However, with the League One season concluding on Saturday through Oxford United’s 2-0 playoff final victory over Bolton Wanderers, the full list of potential new opponents for Leeds in the Championship has been established.
Oxford United, who Leeds last faced in the league back in 1990, will join League One champions Portsmouth and runners-up Derby County as newly promoted teams in the Championship, alongside the three clubs relegated from the Premier League.
While the final Premier League standings will be determined on Sunday, Sheffield United, Burnley, and effectively Luton Town due to their goal difference, have already been relegated.
In contrast, the Championship winners Leicester City, runners-up Ipswich Town, and either Leeds or Southampton will gain promotion to the Premier League next season.
