AliousThe dressing room that will host Everton’s first team at their new stadium is taking shape, with recently released images showing the progress being made in this state-of-the-art facility located in the west stand.
A major upgrade from Goodison Park, the circular dressing room will feature players’ lockers arranged around the perimeter, designed to “maximise team unity and inclusivity,” according to the club.
Significantly larger than its Goodison counterpart, the new dressing room will provide ample space for physios, team doctors, and access to a hydrotherapy pool.
Technology will also be integrated into the room to assist managers in relaying instructions.
The ceiling template showcases the club’s giant crest, adding to the impressive aesthetics.
Former Everton captain Phil Jagielka highlighted the new dressing room as a key improvement during his tour in February, praising the facilities as bringing the club to “the place it needs to be” to accommodate larger squads and coaching staff.
While the new stadium’s initial financing remains a concern, football finance expert Dr. Dan Plumley of Sheffield Hallam University believes it has the potential to boost Everton’s long-term financial performance once operational.
He cited the revenue opportunities from hosting events beyond traditional matchdays, following the blueprint set by Tottenham Hotspur with concerts and NFL matches.
Plumley believes the stadium’s return on investment will be a positive for the club in the long run, provided they remain in the Premier League, secure a takeover, and hit the “financial reset button.”
He acknowledged the current significant cost but emphasized the long-term benefits of the new stadium in generating substantial revenue streams.
