Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly pursuing the signing of Icelandic striker Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa.

The 25-year-old forward, who has been likened to Paulo Dybala due to his dribbling skills, had an impressive 2023/24 campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing 5 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Italian media sources claim that Spurs will have no difficulty meeting Genoa’s €30 million (£25 million) asking price for Gudmundsson, given their good relationship with the Serie A club after the January 2024 signing of Radu Dragusin.

Genoa’s president has already admitted that he will allow Gudmundsson to leave this summer.

Tottenham have long been admirers of Dybala’s style of play, having come close to signing the Argentine forward from Juventus in 2019 before the deal fell through.

Gudmundsson’s ability to operate as a second striker or on the left wing could make him an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s attacking system at Spurs, potentially playing alongside Heung-min Son.

With funds seemingly not an issue, Tottenham appear keen to bolster their forward line with the acquisition of the Dybala-esque Gudmundsson ahead of the new season.
