Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a formal bid to sign Japanese forward Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad this summer.

According to recent reports from Spain, Spurs have submitted an offer worth around £42 million for the 23-year-old winger.

Despite already having Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson as options on the right wing, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou appears keen to add further depth in that position ahead of the new season. Kubo caught the eye with his promising performances for Real Sociedad last campaign, contributing seven goals and four assists in 30 La Liga appearances.

However, Tottenham’s initial bid falls short of Kubo’s reported £51 million release clause, and the reports suggest that Spurs may be prepared to increase their offer if Real Sociedad rejects their opening proposal.
