Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a significant summer as they look to fine-tune their squad for the upcoming season.

One potential departure is midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has drawn interest from several clubs, including Fulham.

GiveMeSport reports that Fulham see the Danish international as a potential replacement for Joao Palhinha, who is likely to leave for Bayern Munich.

Marco Silva is keen on securing a player with proven Premier League experience, making Hojbjerg an attractive option for Fulham.

Fulham’s interest in Hojbjerg aligns with their need for a strong defensive midfielder to bolster their lineup.

Hojbjerg, in the final year of his contract with Spurs, joined from Southampton in 2020 on a five-year deal.

Last season, he was largely a substitute under Ange Postecoglou, starting just 21% of Premier League games and making only eight starts in 36 appearances.

This lack of playing time has increased Hojbjerg’s desire to leave North London for more regular first-team action.

However, Fulham will face competition from clubs including Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Fenerbahce, and Napoli.

Reports indicate that Fenerbahce has already begun negotiations with Tottenham for the 28-year-old.

Tottenham are seeking £20 million for his transfer, and Postecoglou has approved the sale.

As Spurs approach the transfer window, selling Hojbjerg could provide necessary funds to strengthen other areas of their squad.

Rumored for months to be leaving North London, Hojbjerg’s departure this summer appears imminent.

According to the Daily Star, as relayed by Football London, Postecoglou has given the green light for the Danish international to be sold.

Under Postecoglou, Hojbjerg fell down the pecking order, with players like Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr preferred ahead of him.

Although he made 36 league appearances, he started only 21% of them.

Hojbjerg has been linked with a move for several windows, attracting interest from clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Fulham, Juventus, and Napoli.

Jose Mourinho, Hojbjerg’s former manager at Spurs, is also interested in signing him for his new club, Fenerbahce.

The 28-year-old’s contract expires in June next year, and Tottenham have set a £20 million asking price.

The most significant interest currently comes from Fenerbahce, with Mourinho eager to reunite with Hojbjerg.

Discussions between Fenerbahce and Spurs are reportedly underway. Mourinho, who relied on Hojbjerg during his time at Spurs, sees the midfielder as a valuable addition to his team in Turkey.

As Tottenham prepare for the new season, selling Hojbjerg will provide him with the playing time he desires and generate funds for Spurs to invest in new signings.
