AliousFlorin Manea, the agent of Radu Dragusin, has expressed his belief that Tottenham Hotspur are likely to miss out on their £25 million target, Albert Gudmundsson, despite their reported approach for the Icelandic forward.
Manea revealed his expectation that Gudmundsson will ultimately choose to join Inter Milan over Tottenham.
Speaking to TV Play in Italy, the 44-year-old agent stated, “Gudmundsson? (Valerio) Giuffrida is his agent, and I have relations with him. He is a player who showed a lot in the last season.
Will he go to Inter? I think so, in my opinion, in the end, he will go to the Nerazzurri unless someone arrives with the real millions.”
Manea’s comments suggest that unless Tottenham presents a significantly lucrative offer, the Icelandic forward, who has drawn comparisons to Mohamed Salah, seems destined to join Inter Milan at the San Siro.
This potential outcome would be a disappointment for Tottenham’s new manager, Ange Postecoglou, as Gudmundsson is arguably one of the most impressive attackers in Italian football, having scored 16 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions last season for Genoa.
However, Tottenham may already be aware of Gudmundsson’s inclination toward Inter Milan and have adjusted their transfer plans accordingly.
Reports indicate that Spurs are expected to hold a meeting this week to discuss the potential signing of Crystal Palace’s Ebere Eze, who operates in a similar attacking midfield or second striker role as Gudmundsson.
