In an attempt to negotiate a deal, Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boehly is exploring a creative approach, reportedly planning to offer Palace a package involving two of their own players in addition to cash.
The two Chelsea players mentioned as potential makeweights in this prospective deal are Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah, both of whom have been linked with Palace in recent times.
While these two academy graduates are promising talents, it is uncertain whether their inclusion would sufficiently offset the valuation Palace has placed on Olise.
Consequently, Chelsea may need to supplement the offer with a substantial cash sum, potentially exceeding Olise’s release clause fee.
Broja, a striker, has garnered praise for his clinical finishing ability, drawing comparisons to Diego Costa, although his development has stalled due to limited playing time at Chelsea and during his loan spell at Fulham.
Chalobah, a defender, could potentially fill a void at Palace if they were to lose Marc Guehi, but his acquisition may not be a priority given Palace’s existing options in that position.
While Broja and Chalobah represent solid options, Palace may prefer the inclusion of Noni Madueke in any deal involving Olise, as Madueke could serve as a more direct replacement for the Frenchman’s role within the team.
