AliousTurkish publication Sabah has reported that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are locked in pursuit of Besiktas’ prodigious teenager, Semih Kilicsoy.
The 18-year-old forward has risen through the ranks of the Turkish giants’ youth system before making his senior debut last season.
Kilicsoy’s impressive performances in the 2022-23 campaign, where he scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 23 league appearances, have caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.
After showcasing his talents at the club level, the youngster has earned a call-up to the Turkish national team for the ongoing European Championship.
According to Sport Witness, who cited and translated reports from the print version of Sabah, Tottenham Hotspur have dispatched scouts to closely monitor Kilicsoy’s performances during the European Championship.
The North Londoners are reportedly interested in securing the forward’s services this summer, with Besiktas valuing him at around £21 million, a figure Spurs could potentially afford.
However, Tottenham’s pursuit of Kilicsoy is not without competition.
The report suggests that Arsenal are also plotting a swoop for the talented teenager, while Manchester City are keeping tabs on his development.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be in the market for a new striker during this transfer window, with Kilicsoy emerging as a serious target for the two rivals.
While the Besiktas starlet possesses immense potential, his tender age means that he would likely require time to adapt to the rigors of the Premier League.
Consequently, he is unlikely to provide an immediate impact for either Arsenal or Tottenham should he join either club this summer.
