Aston Villa is facing challenges in including Weston McKennie as part of a potential triple deal for Douglas Luiz.
As a result, the clubs are exploring alternative options.
Italian reports suggest that apart from Samuel Iling-Junior, Juventus could offer Moise Kean, although convincing Aston Villa to accept him remains a hurdle.
According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, quoted by Sport Italia, a new player has emerged as a potential addition to the deal – Enzo Barrenechea. Pedulla stated, “Evaluations are also underway on Barrenechea if McKennie doesn’t lower his requests, regarding Douglas Luiz.”
Barrenechea, an Argentine midfielder, spent the previous season on loan at Frosinone, where he made 39 appearances but could not prevent the club’s relegation to Serie B.
The 23-year-old came through Juventus’ youth ranks and is currently valued at €7.5 million by Transfermarkt, with his value potentially increasing after his loan spell.
It remains uncertain whether Aston Villa would be interested in Barrenechea, as they may have reservations about including a relatively unknown player in the deal for Douglas Luiz.
