According to a recent report by journalist Graeme Bailey, Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Fiorentina’s young full-back, Michael Kayode, for a potential summer transfer.
However, they face competition from Aston Villa in their pursuit of the Italian defender.
Kayode, 19, has had a breakthrough season in Italian football.
He made a significant impact for Fiorentina, featuring in 37 matches across all competitions during the previous campaign. His contributions included one goal and four assists.
The young Italian’s performance statistics in Serie A demonstrate his effectiveness on both ends of the pitch.
He averaged 2.0 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, and 1.5 clearances per game defensively.
Offensively, he managed 0.6 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per match.
Kayode also showed composure in possession, boasting an impressive 87% pass success rate.
Kayode’s current contract with Fiorentina extends until 2028, which could make negotiations challenging for Tottenham if they decide to pursue the player.
This long-term commitment to Fiorentina may result in a higher transfer fee, potentially complicating Spurs’ efforts to secure a bargain deal for the promising full-back.
