Eze Highlights England’s Momentum Ahead of Swiss Clash
Crystal Palace star Ebere Eze has emphasized the positive impact of England’s dramatic victory over Slovakia on team morale as they prepare for their Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland.
Reflecting on Jude Bellingham’s last-gasp overhead kick and Harry Kane’s extra-time winner, in which Eze played a crucial role, the midfielder noted, “After winning the other day, that was a huge lift for everyone. But now we want to win it.
The mentality is to keep going, to keep pushing.”
Eze also touched on the team’s growing cohesion, stating, “Naturally, when you’re with a group so long you tend to grow closer, to understand each other a bit better.
You get to gel, get to know each other on a deeper level and I think it translates on the pitch as well.”
Drawing from his experience at Selhurst Park, Eze underscored the importance of fan support for the upcoming match.
“I don’t know if fans realize how important they are,” he said. “The energy they bring and give players on the pitch.
Especially a player like me as well, you feed off that type of energy.”
He concluded by praising the fans’ support thus far and emphasizing their continued importance: “They have been top so far and we’re going to need them again I’m sure.”
