AliousEverton has made a second, improved offer of €20 million (£16.8 million) to Galatasaray for defender Davinson Sanchez, according to Ajansspor. This follows an initial bid of €18 million (£15.2 million) that was rejected.
Galatasaray is reportedly seeking €25 million (£21 million) for the former Tottenham player.
Crystal Palace is also monitoring the situation, particularly as their defender Marc Guehi is attracting interest from other clubs.
However, Everton’s urgency to sign a new defender may have decreased due to Amadou Onana’s potential £50 million transfer to Aston Villa.
If this move materializes, Everton would be under less financial pressure to sell players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Sanchez, now 28, has significant Premier League experience from his time at Tottenham but never fully met expectations.
He might see this as an opportunity to prove himself in England again after a season in Turkey.
While Sanchez could be a solid addition to Everton’s squad, he’s unlikely to displace Branthwaite or James Tarkowski in the starting lineup.
Given Galatasaray’s asking price and Everton’s current defensive options, including Michael Keane, the transfer may not be a priority for the club unless circumstances change.
