GOOD NEWS: The Toffees Fans Love Him, and He fits In our Play Pattern And He can Lead Everton to Glorious Trophies…

Everton has hosted several fan-favorite center-backs over the past decade, from Phil Jagielka to John Stones, who have been crucial in maintaining the club’s Premier League status.

In the 2023/24 season, manager Sean Dyche established a formidable partnership between James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, who started nearly every match together.

However, this partnership might change in the 2024/25 season as Everton eyes defensive reinforcements.

According to Foot Mercato, the club is preparing to sign Montpellier defender Becir Omeragic.

The 22-year-old Swiss player, who joined Montpellier last summer, has impressed in Ligue 1, catching Dyche’s attention.

Omeragic’s market value is estimated at €6m (£5m), potentially allowing Everton to strengthen their defense without risking Financial Fair Play issues.

He could join alongside rumored target Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

Analysts have compared Omeragic to former Everton star John Stones due to his versatility in playing both central and wide defensive positions.

Like Stones, who was sold for £47.5m in 2016, Omeragic could potentially generate a significant profit for Everton in the future.

Statistically, Omeragic averaged 41 passes per 90 minutes last season, with 2.8 progressive passes and an 85% pass completion rate.

While these numbers are lower than Stones’ current stats at Manchester City, they demonstrate Omeragic’s ability to play out from the back.

Defensively, he averaged 1.9 tackles and 2 blocks per 90 minutes, suggesting he could fit well into Dyche’s system.

Despite Everton’s solid defensive performance last season, Dyche appears keen to further strengthen this area.

Omeragic could potentially replace Tarkowski and partner with Branthwaite in the long term, though he may need to be patient initially.

Given his performance over the past year, his signing could prove excellent for Everton’s future.
