AliousTottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has dismissed speculation linking him to the vacant England national team manager position.
This comes after Gareth Southgate’s departure following England’s Euro 2024 final loss to Spain.
The Guardian reported Postecoglou as a potential candidate alongside others like Lee Carsley, Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Thomas Tuchel.
However, the 58-year-old Greek-Australian manager claimed ignorance of these reports and reaffirmed his commitment to Tottenham.
Speaking after Spurs’ 5-1 pre-season victory against Hearts, Postecoglou stated, “I’m focused on bringing success to Tottenham as their manager.
There’s no point considering anything else until I achieve that.” He humorously added that he had been napping and was unaware of any speculation.
Postecoglou’s comments emphasize his dedication to his current role at Tottenham, downplaying any potential interest in the England job.
