AliousCrystal Palace is targeting Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr as a potential replacement for Michael Olise.
Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge reports that Palace has long admired Sarr, with personal terms unlikely to be an issue. Palace’s sporting director Dougie Freedman has shown interest in Sarr since his time at Watford.
The Eagles are in talks with Marseille for the 26-year-old Senegalese player, though they’re currently far from meeting Marseille’s valuation.
Sarr joined Marseille last summer for around £15m.
Following Olise’s move to Bayern Munich, Palace has been linked with other players like Juventus’ Matias Soule and Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville.
Marseille’s recent spending spree, including signings like Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, might necessitate player sales to balance their books.
Despite injury issues, Sarr had a decent season in Ligue 1, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 23 appearances.
He’s now reportedly available for transfer as Marseille looks to fund a move for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.
In related news, Crystal Palace and Fulham are considering improved bids for Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
Both clubs are internally discussing new proposals for the 23-year-old, who’s seeking more playing time after limited appearances for Arsenal last season.
