According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham defender Emerson Royal could be on his way out of the club this week.
AC Milan has shown interest in the £25 million player throughout the summer, and new talks are scheduled that might finalize a deal.
Tottenham is actively working on both incoming and outgoing transfers.
While they’ve already signed Archie Gray, the club recognizes the need to offload players to facilitate further strengthening of the squad.
Several players have already departed, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Marseille, and Joe Rodon and Ryan Sessegnon to other clubs.
Initially, AC Milan’s interest in Royal seemed to have cooled, prompting other clubs like Galatasaray to consider the player.
However, it appears that a move to Milan might still be on the cards.
Tottenham hopes to recoup as much of the £25 million they invested in Royal as possible, though it’s uncertain if Milan will meet this valuation.
Previous reports suggested Milan’s initial bid of less than £10 million was promptly rejected by Spurs.
Manager Ange Postecoglou has several options at full-back, including new signing Gray and the returning Djed Spence, potentially making Royal’s departure more feasible.
As negotiations progress, Royal’s future at Tottenham could be decided in the coming days.
