AliousEverton manager Sean Dyche has suggested that the club may not make any more signings this summer, but left the door open by saying, “We will have to wait and see.”
The club has already brought in five new players, with Jake O’Brien being the latest addition for around £17 million, confirmed just before a friendly match with Coventry City.
O’Brien, a 23-year-old center back, has been on Everton’s radar for some time.
The club moved quickly to secure his signature as other Premier League teams showed interest.
Dyche expressed satisfaction with the deal, noting O’Brien’s experience with Lyon last season and the club’s desire for him to embrace the challenge at Everton.
Dyche clarified that O’Brien’s signing is not related to any potential departure of star defender Jarrad Branthwaite, for whom Everton has already rejected two bids this summer.
He emphasized that the club is working within its financial constraints to build a team that can continue to grow and improve.
When asked about the possibility of more signings following O’Brien, Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Harrison, Tim Iroegbunam, and Jesper Lindstrom, Dyche expressed doubt due to the club’s financial situation.
However, he didn’t completely rule out the possibility, leaving room for potential surprises in the transfer market.
