LEEDS’ MILLION POUNDS MISTAKE! Summerville Sale to West Ham Sparks Fears of Underselling – Expert Analysis”

According to Sean Whetstone, Leeds United may receive up to £34 million from West Ham United for Crysencio Summerville.

Whetstone, reporting via the West Ham Football X account on July 31, stated that a medical examination is scheduled for August 1.

The deal structure includes an initial £25million payment, considered a bargain for West Ham, with an additional £5 million in performance-related bonuses.

A further £4 million clause will be activated if Summerville earns a full cap for the Netherlands national team.

The initial £25 million fee for last season’s Championship standout player seems underwhelming from Leeds’ perspective.

Given the reported widespread interest in Summerville from various clubs in England and Europe, Leeds might have been able to negotiate a higher upfront payment.

While the potential £34 million total is more substantial, it depends on meeting various conditions, including Summerville’s international debut for the Netherlands.

Though this seems likely for the former Under-21 player, Leeds has limited control over the situation.

This transfer provides Leeds with funds to seek a replacement in attack and strengthen other areas of the squad.

However, questions remain about whether Leeds has undersold Summerville, something only time will reveal.
