AliousIpswich Town is reportedly competing with Leeds United and Watford to sign AC Milan’s out-of-favor defender Fode Ballo-Toure.
According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, the Senegalese left-back has been offered to Ipswich as they prepare for their Premier League return.
Watford was initially linked with Ballo-Toure, followed by Leeds, who are short on wide defensive options.
Despite an apparent agreement with Turkish side Besiktas, Ballo-Toure reportedly rejected the move.The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Fulham, making limited appearances in the Premier League.
His experience in the top flight could be valuable for Ipswich as a backup option.
Ipswich already has Leif Davis, considered the best left-back from the previous Championship season.
Unlike Watford and Leeds, they’re not urgently seeking competition in this position.
Leeds, in particular, is facing defensive challenges after losing options in this area.
Archie Gray, who could play right-back, has been sold to Tottenham Hotspur.
Their only true options in these positions are Sam Byram and Junior Firpo, with the latter potentially returning to Spain.
