ITALIAN TOP SECRET MISSION: Everton Plot Stunning Hijack of AC Milan’s Top Target

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Everton might outmaneuver AC Milan in securing Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

The Italian newspaper reported on August 9th that Everton could potentially snatch Abraham from Milan’s grasp, warning of “surprises in the Premier League.”

Leicester City was also mentioned as an interested party.Roma aims to sell two or three players this summer to fund Daniele De Rossi’s squad rebuild, with Abraham high on the departure list.

The Serie A club is looking to recover £25.7m for the striker.

Sean Dyche’s transfer strategy at Everton involves targeting players coming off poor seasons in Europe, a profile Abraham fits.

The 26-year-old missed most of last season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, managing one goal and one assist in eight Serie A appearances upon his return.

Abraham joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021, initially impressing with 27 goals and five assists in 53 appearances across all competitions.

However, his impact decreased the following year with only nine goals and seven assists in 54 outings.

Everton might re-enter the striker market due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s uncertain future and increased Serie A interest in Beto.

The Portuguese striker’s ability to lead Everton’s attack is in doubt after scoring just three goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season.

At 6ft 3in, Abraham fits Dyche’s ideal striker profile. His aerial prowess, demonstrated at Chelsea, could make him the target man Everton needs.

While Everton boasted one of the league’s best defensive records last season, they struggled to score.

A move to Everton could revive Abraham’s career and boost his chances for national team selection, potentially benefiting all parties if he can replicate his early form at Chelsea and Roma.
