The majority of this budget was allocated to acquiring Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jake O’Brien, leaving uncertain how much remains for additional transfers before the August 30th deadline.
Sean Dyche’s current focus is on preparing his existing squad for the upcoming Premier League season rather than pursuing further transfers.
Despite last season’s financial struggles, Everton’s £40 million spending surprised some.
However, they’ve offset this with over £70 million in player sales, including Amadou Onana’s £50 million move to Aston Villa, along with Lewis Dobbin and Ben Godfrey’s transfers.
It’s unclear whether Onana’s fee can fund additional signings, which may be necessary given his departure.
If more sales are required, it could attract interest from clubs like Manchester United, who have been eyeing Jarrad Branthwaite.
However, Dyche has stated Branthwaite won’t be sold.For now, Dyche plans to work with his current squad, building on the resilient mentality that proved effective last season.
