SAD NEWS: Wilfried Zaha’s Crystal Palace return not going ahead at present “FABRIZIO ROMANO”

Oliver Glasner likely hopes his Crystal Palace team will start the 2024/25 Premier League season as strongly as they finished the last one.

In their final seven games of 2023/24, they won six and drew one, including impressive victories over top teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Aston Villa.

A similar run of form in the upcoming season could put Palace in contention for European spots. However, they may face challenges after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and potentially Marc Guehi to Newcastle.

Despite a quiet transfer window, Palace has made some notable signings including Chadi Riad, Ismaila Sarr, and Daichi Kamada, all expected to strengthen the squad.

Rumors of former club legend Wilfried Zaha returning had excited fans. Zaha, who won the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray, seemed to be available.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the move is currently off.At 31, Zaha still possesses the skills that made him a Palace icon, and his return could have helped offset Olise’s departure.

With three weeks left in the transfer window, there’s still a chance the deal could be revived, though the reason for the current impasse is unclear.

Leicester City is also reportedly interested in Zaha, which could complicate matters for Glasner and Palace owner Steve Parish.
