AliousCrystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has responded on social media after losing his number 1 jersey to Dean Henderson.
Manager Oliver Glasner has made Henderson the new first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Johnstone, who was Palace’s primary goalkeeper for much of last season, has been given the number 32 shirt instead.
He posted a sarcastic message on social media with the caption “New day new number” along with laughing emojis, seemingly unimpressed by the change.
This setback comes after Johnstone missed out on England’s Euro 2024 squad due to an elbow injury in March that saw him lose his starting spot to Henderson.
Henderson impressed Glasner at the end of last season, helping Palace win six of their final seven matches.
The Daily Mail reports that Johnstone has now been put up for sale at his own request, as he seeks regular playing time.
Palace values him at £10 million, with several Premier League clubs reportedly interested.

Henderson’s arrival last year for £20 million always posed a threat to Johnstone’s position.
The younger goalkeeper joined Palace with the intention of claiming the number 1 spot after several loan spells away from Manchester United.
