AliousArsenal’s Eddie Nketiah is a potential target for Crystal Palace as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the Premier League season.
Initially, Arsenal hoped to sell Nketiah to Nottingham Forest for around £30 million, but this move fell through due to disagreements over personal terms.
Forest is now reportedly more interested in Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.
Marseille had also been in talks with Nketiah, but that deal didn’t materialize either.
Nketiah’s reluctance to reduce his £120,000-a-week wages has deterred several potential buyers.
Crystal Palace’s interest comes after losing key players like Joachim Andersen, Jordan Ayew, and Michael Olise, prompting manager Oliver Glasner to seek quality additions.
Arsenal initially sought £50 million for Nketiah but has since lowered their asking price to £30-35 million.
However, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan questioned this valuation, suggesting that even £30 million might be excessive for Nketiah.
The 24-year-old striker has scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for Arsenal since coming through their academy.
He has also earned one cap for England’s senior team and holds the record as the all-time top scorer for England’s under-21s.
Despite his potential, Nketiah’s high wage demands and Arsenal’s valuation have made securing a move challenging as the transfer window nears its close.
