AliousCrystal Palace is reportedly pursuing deals for Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix and Benfica’s Tomas Araujo as part of their defensive restructuring, according to sources informed Football Insider.
The club has already added Chadi Riad to their defense this summer and is exploring options following Joachim Andersen’s move to Fulham.
There are indications that Newcastle United is confident in securing Palace’s Marc Guehi before the transfer window closes.
This potential departure has prompted Palace to seek new center-back partnerships.
Lacroix, who has previously worked with Palace manager Oliver Glasner, is a prime target.
The club has reportedly had a bid accepted for the 24-year-old, whose contract expires in 2025.Palace has also made a bid for Araujo, which Benfica rejected, but they plan to make another offer soon.
Additionally, Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhodzic is on Palace’s shortlist, though other Premier League clubs are also interested in the Bosnian defender.
