AliousWilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace’s top Premier League scorer, is reportedly close to joining Lyon.
This comes just a year after he declined a £200k weekly wage offer from Palace, instead moving to Galatasaray where he played in the Champions League.
Earlier this summer, there were rumors of Zaha potentially returning to Palace.
The club’s chairman, Steve Parish, even expressed his enthusiasm for such a move during a talkSPORT interview.
However, it now appears that Lyon is set to acquire Zaha, with John Textor, who has stakes in both clubs, reportedly facilitating the transfer.
This development adds to Palace’s challenging summer, having already lost Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen to other clubs.
There’s also speculation about Marc Guehi potentially leaving, though it would cost around £70 million to secure his transfer from Palace.
The potential Zaha transfer to Lyon is complicated by Riad Chaid’s injury, leaving Palace in need of a backup plan if they lose another key player so close to the transfer deadline.
Despite the challenges, sources suggest that Parish has approved Zaha’s return if the finances can be arranged.
