Everton concluded deadline day with a last-minute loan deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, a target they’ve pursued for two summers.

The club submitted a deal sheet just before the 11pm deadline, allowing extra time to finalize the transfer.

Broja, currently injured, joins on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Director of Football Kevin Thelwell expressed enthusiasm about the young player’s potential and the club’s plans to aid his development.

This was Everton’s second deadline day loan signing, following the acquisition of midfielder Orel Mangala from Lyon.

Manager Sean Dyche highlighted Mangala’s Premier League experience as valuable for a quick adjustment to the team.

While these two arrivals were significant, Everton’s deadline day was primarily marked by departures:

1. Neal Maupay moved to Marseille on loan with an obligation to buy, potentially earning Everton £8.4 million next summer.

2. Mason Holgate joined West Brom on loan for the second time in his Everton career.

3. Academy prospects Francis Okoronkwo and Billy Crelling were loaned to Salford City and Accrington Stanley respectively.

These transfers reflect Everton’s efforts to balance their squad, bringing in potential impact players while offloading those surplus to requirements.
