Republic of Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrímsson provided a succinct update on Coleman’s condition.
Ahead of the upcoming match against Greece on Tuesday, Hallgrímsson stated that Coleman, who was forced to leave the field in the second half, is “unlikely” to participate in this second Nations League fixture.
This latest setback in the right-back position prompts a review of Everton’s transfer activities during the summer window, which were aimed at strengthening this area of the team.
It’s clear that Kevin Thelwell, Everton’s Director of Football, recognized the need to address this position, making his decision to leave it until the last minute all the more perplexing.
Everton’s primary target was Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United, likely due to his previous association with Everton manager Sean Dyche. However, Trippier ultimately remained with Newcastle.
