AliousLeeds United return to Elland Road with a difficult home match against Coventry City.
The Sky Blues may have lost three of their opening six games in the Championship but after taking four points off Leeds last season, Daniel Farke knows how difficult this will be.
arke has a number of injury concerns heading into the game with Manor Solomon once again set to miss out, this time due to a hamstring issue.
Max Wober and Dan James are also out, while a late decision will also be made on Pascal Struijk after missing some training sessions this week.
Here is our predicted XI for the match
Goalkeeper
Illan Meslier continues in goal after his fourth clean sheet in six matches at Cardiff City.
Defence
Struijk has been paramount to Leeds’ strong defensive record this season but Farke has to weigh up whether it is worth risking him with away matches at Norwich City and Sunderland next week.
Perhaps resting him for this one and dropping Ethan Ampadu into defence would make sense so Struijk has more time to recover. Leeds don’t want a repeat of last season’s long-term lay-off.
Joining Ampadu at centre-back will be Joe Rodon, with Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo completing the defence, despite the latter again missing some training this week.
Midfield
Though Struijk will be a big miss at the back and should come straight back in whenever he is fit, his absence could actually allow Farke to name a more balanced midfield.
With Ampadu dropping into the back four, that would see Ilia Gruev move into a holding midfield role, where he is much better.
A more forward thinking presence at number eight in Ao Tanaka would then come in for his full debut, which is what Leeds fans want.
Attack
With Solomon and James out, the front four almost picks itself. After Largie Ramazani’s impressive full debut goal, he keeps his place. Wilfried Gnonto will be on the other wing.
Joel Piroe staked his claim for a spot in the starting XI with his goal off the bench in South Wales but should not dislodge either Brenden Aaronson or Mateo Joseph.
