Everton Football Club has reached another significant milestone in the construction of their cutting-edge new stadium. The recently installed massive screens at both ends of the ground have undergone successful testing, signaling their readiness for use.
On Friday, Everton released footage showcasing the screen test at the impressive waterfront venue. The club-shared images depicted the screens displaying graphics for an Everton goal and the rallying cry “UTT – Up The Toffees.” Both presentations appeared stunning as they illuminated the area above the pitch.
The new stadium boasts two colossal screens, each measuring an impressive 32 meters by 9 meters, manufactured by a company called ADI. While the screen test may seem like a minor development, it serves as another indicator of the substantial progress being made, making the impending move to Bramley-Moore Dock feel increasingly tangible.
This advancement coincides with ongoing work on the pitch itself, which involves building up various layers to create the playing surface. This particular aspect of construction represents perhaps the most visually significant milestone yet to be completed.
In preparation for the move, Everton recently unveiled its Fan Wall initiative. This project will result in the creation of a mosaic artwork composed entirely of fan photographs, to be displayed on the river-facing western wall of the stadium. Titled “The Originals,” this artwork will pay tribute to Everton players who have achieved unique accomplishments while representing the club, as well as those who have truly embodied the Everton spirit both on and off the pitch.
Supporters from around the globe will have the opportunity to submit their photos for inclusion in the wall. These personal images will be meticulously arranged to form a magnificent fan-inspired mosaic. The initial lineup of “Originals” will feature legendary figures such as Dixie Dean, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, and “The Holy Trinity” of Alan Ball, Howard Kendall, and Colin Harvey. Brian Labone, known as “The last of the Corinthians,” will also be honored.
Other notable inclusions are Kevin Campbell, Everton’s first black captain; Seamus Coleman, who holds the record for most Premier League appearances for the club; and Tim Cahill, a fan favorite who scored Australia’s first-ever World Cup goal during his tenure at Everton. The wall will also showcase Bob Latchford, a prolific goalscorer from the 1970s; Graeme Sharp, the club’s highest living goalscorer; and Neville Southall, Everton’s most decorated player and appearance record holder. This diverse selection ensures that the wall represents iconic names and eras that have inspired generations of Evertonians.
