Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo is preparing his side for what promises to be a challenging contest, describing it as a “new game” with fresh dynamics and opportunities.
Tottenham, despite being one of the league’s most prolific teams with a remarkable 39 goals scored this season, have shown vulnerability at the back, managing only four clean sheets.

“They have good players, score a lot of goals, but they also concede goals,” he remarked.
“What we are preparing for is a new game with new situations. We’re facing a very strong opponent, and it will be a good challenge.”
Espírito Santo’s tactical acumen has been on display recently, notably in his decision to deploy a back three of Morato, Murillo, and Nikola Milenkovic against Brentford.
This defensive setup proved effective in countering the opposition’s offensive threats. Speaking about the strategy, Nuno expressed satisfaction with its execution: “I think it worked well.
We managed the game defensively and dealt with Brentford’s attacking style, which creates a lot of goal-scoring situations.”
He also highlighted the familiarity of the system to his players, noting that it had been used successfully in previous matches, including against Manchester City.
“It’s a shape the players are comfortable with, the routines are there, and we decided to use it for this game. Let’s see if it works again,” he added, hinting that the formation might feature against Tottenham.
As Forest prepare to host Spurs, their focus will be on maintaining their momentum and finding the right balance to handle Tottenham’s potent attack while exploiting their defensive frailties.
