“Nottingham Forest Plot Shocking Move for French Star After 18-Month Saga!”

Nottingham Forest have reignited their interest in French midfielder Batista Mendy, 18 months after initially being linked with the player during his time at Angers.

Since then, Mendy has moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor, where his strong performances have kept him on Forest’s radar and attracted attention from several Italian clubs.

According to Taka Gazete, Trabzonspor are open to negotiations for Mendy, but it’s believed they would require an offer of at least €10 million (£8.4 million) to begin talks.

Operating primarily as a defensive midfielder but also capable of playing as a center-back, Mendy has been instrumental for Trabzonspor.

He played a key role in helping the team secure European qualification in his first season and has continued to be a reliable presence this year, missing just one match due to suspension.

Forest reportedly sent a representative to scout Mendy during Trabzonspor’s recent 4-3 loss to Galatasaray.

While defensive midfield may not be a pressing need for Forest this transfer window—especially as they focus on extending contracts for key players and strengthening their attacking options—the club’s enduring interest in Mendy suggests they see long-term potential in the 23-year-old.

Previously linked alongside Everton, Valencia, and Mainz, Forest appear to be keeping their options open as they navigate their remarkable Premier League campaign, currently sitting third in the table.
