“Nuno Fires Back at Arne Slot’s Forest Spending Jabs with Scathing Response!”

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has firmly dismissed Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s claims that Forest’s success this season is rooted in heavy spending. Ahead of their high-stakes clash at the City Ground tonight, Slot hinted that Forest’s rise was no surprise given their financial outlay, saying, *“If you look at the money they spent, it’s not a complete surprise.”*

However, Nuno was quick to counter, emphasizing that football is about the players, not price tags. *“Money doesn’t play football, people do,”* Nuno said. *“I don’t know the spending, I don’t know the value. That doesn’t happen. I look at the player as a human being and how I can make them better. How can I make you better? It’s not my issue. We are not concerned about the price tag of things.”*

The matchup against Liverpool, currently Premier League leaders, has sparked speculation that Forest could be entering the title race if they manage a win tonight. But Nuno played down such talk, dismissing it as mere conjecture. *“We have to play the games. We are here to compete against all the teams. I think we are doing well, and nothing changes in our approach,”* he explained. *“If we start thinking about ifs… it’s if, if, if. At the end of the game, there will be no ifs.”*

Nuno also urged his players to stay grounded despite their strong form, which includes six consecutive league victories. *“When we do things well, we should be pleased, but too many compliments can distract us. We don’t want to pay too much attention,”* he said.

Reflecting on Forest’s journey this season, Nuno acknowledged their progress while highlighting the effort behind their rise. *“At the beginning of the season, maybe it was a surprise, but it was a long time ago. Many things have changed. It’s the ambition and desire to do things well, the hard work of the players, and their commitment.”*

As Forest prepare for one of their toughest tests of the season, Nuno’s focus remains on his team’s performance and maintaining their momentum, shutting down distractions from outside opinions.
