AliousNazariy Rusyn has officially left Sunderland on a season-long loan to Croatian side Hajduk Split. The agreement includes an option for Hajduk to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
The Ukrainian striker, who joined Sunderland in September 2023, has struggled to secure a regular spot in the Black Cats’ starting lineup. Despite making 32 senior appearances for the club, Rusyn has been on the fringes of Regis Le Bris’ squad during the current campaign.
Sunderland’s sporting director, Kristjaan Speakman, explained the decision, saying, “We wanted to find the best opportunity for Nazariy to get more game time, and Hajduk Split offers a fantastic platform for him. Their style of play and status as a club competing for a league title make it the perfect setting for him at this stage of his career. We wish him all the best for the remainder of the season.”
Rusyn’s move provides him with a fresh start and the chance to gain valuable minutes on the pitch while contributing to Hajduk Split’s league ambitions.
