Matheus Cunha has ended any rumors surrounding a potential winter transfer by committing his future to Wolverhampton Wanderers, signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

Arsenal had been heavily linked with the Brazilian forward earlier this month, but despite engaging in talks with his representatives in November and December, the Gunners ultimately decided not to follow up with an official offer in January, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Romano also revealed that Cunha’s new deal with Wolves includes a release clause that will come into effect this summer, which could prompt renewed interest from clubs pursuing the forward.

While Arsenal showed some interest, other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United also reportedly kept an eye on Cunha. However, Wolves were firm in their stance, with numerous reports stating that they had no intention of selling the player and had not received any formal offers for him.

Cunha has been in strong form this season, contributing 11 goals and four assists for Wolves, who are currently battling relegation. His most recent contribution was a dramatic injury-time goal that secured a vital win over Aston Villa. Following that match, Cunha signed his new contract, signaling his intent to stay at Molineux for the long term.
