“Rangers Infuriate TV Host After Snatching ‘Absolute Gem’ in Dramatic Transfer Battle!”

**Rangers Frustrate TV Host Ewen Cameron with Latest Transfer Move for Rising Star Lyall Cameron**

Rangers have ruffled a few feathers with their recent transfer dealings, leaving TV presenter **Ewen Cameron** visibly annoyed. The Gers, under manager **Philippe Clement**, have had an inconsistent **2024/25 campaign**, highlighted by an embarrassing exit from the **Scottish Cup** at the hands of second-tier side **Queen’s Park**.

Despite making several signings during the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad, the **January window** was relatively quiet. Rangers only secured two new additions: **Rafael Fernandes** and **Lyall Cameron**, with the latter set to officially join in June once his contract with **Dundee** expires. It’s this particular signing that’s left Cameron fuming.

### **Why Lyall Cameron’s Transfer to Rangers Annoyed Ewen Cameron**
Cameron, who co-hosts the *Big Scottish Football Podcast* on **Clyde 1 Superscoreboard** and has fronted shows like *The Late Show with Ewen Cameron*, expressed his frustration over Rangers snapping up the talented midfielder.

A couple of seasons ago, **Lyall Cameron** was in a similar position—available on a free transfer before Dundee secured him with a new deal. Back then, **Hearts** had shown interest, but the move never materialized. Fast forward to now, and history has repeated itself. However, this time Rangers were quicker to act, leaving Hearts fan Cameron disappointed that his club missed out again.

Speaking on his podcast, Cameron didn’t hold back:
> *“My fear is that he goes to Rangers and doesn’t get the chance. That’s what happens to a lot of decent Scottish players in our league—they go to the big two and end up sidelined. The boy was in the last year of his contract, and I kept saying, ‘Hearts, go and get him, go and get him!’ But instead, he signed a new deal, and we missed out. I think we’ve let an absolute gem slip through our fingers, and Rangers have done the deal for the summer.”*

### **Lyall Cameron: A Hidden Gem or Another Benchwarmer?**
For Rangers, **Lyall Cameron** represents another promising addition to their midfield ranks. The club made a similar move last summer when they signed **Connor Barron** from Aberdeen on a free transfer. Although Barron is slightly younger than Cameron, both deals share a common thread—snapping up talented young Scots without hefty transfer fees.

Cameron isn’t expected to walk straight into the starting XI, especially with established names like **Mohamed Diomande** and **Nico Raskin** still key figures in midfield. However, much like Barron, he’ll be poised to step up when needed, offering depth and potential for growth within the squad.

### **A Smart Move for Rangers?**
While Hearts fans like Ewen Cameron are left to ponder what could have been, Rangers may have quietly pulled off a shrewd piece of business. If Cameron manages to replicate his impressive form from Dundee and adapt to the demands at Ibrox, this could prove to be a bargain signing with long-term benefits.

However, the concern raised by Cameron isn’t unfounded. Many young Scottish talents have made high-profile moves to the Old Firm clubs, only to struggle for consistent game time. Whether Cameron can break that trend remains to be seen.

For now, all eyes will be on how the young midfielder transitions when he finally dons the Rangers jersey in the summer. Will he thrive under Clement’s guidance, or will Cameron’s fears come true? Only time will tell.
