The heated discussion unfolded on *The Overlap* YouTube show, where Keane, Wright, Scott, and host Gary Neville debated Fernandes’ suitability as United’s captain amid the club’s struggles under Ruben Amorim. While opinions initially varied, the debate quickly escalated into a passionate clash between Keane and Wright.
Keane, never one to hold back, criticized United’s standards, mocking fans for celebrating a 2-2 draw with Everton as if they had won a trophy. He claimed Fernandes lacked the leadership qualities needed for a club of United’s stature.
“I see fans singing for Bruno. I see these boys, and I think they’re imposters,” Keane fumed.
Wright immediately defended Fernandes, arguing that without him, United would be in an even worse position. “Who’s bringing you back into the game? It’s Bruno who’s doing it!” Wright insisted.
