REVEALED: The Championship’s ELITE Stars You Won’t Believe Made Top 25! Sunderland, Leeds and Middlesbrough Legends DOMINATE List! #3 Will SHOCK You!

As the Championship season nears its conclusion, several Sunderland players have emerged as strong contenders for the club’s Player of the Season award. The Black Cats remain in the hunt for Premier League promotion, with standout performances from Jobe Bellingham, Trai Hume, and Dennis Cirkin helping to drive their campaign forward under head coach Régis Le Bris.

Le Bris, who took over permanently following Michael Beale’s departure last summer, was relatively unknown when he arrived from Lorient. However, he has overseen notable progress compared to Sunderland’s position a year ago. While recent inconsistent results have made automatic promotion more difficult, it is clear that the Frenchman has brought the best out of several players. His squad has also benefited from key acquisitions, particularly loan signings such as Sheffield United defender Chris Mepham and French forward Wilson Isidor, the latter of whom has now completed a permanent move to Wearside. Another loanee, Enzo Le Fée, showed early promise after arriving from Roma, but injuries have limited his impact.

Despite these setbacks, Sunderland sit in fourth place as the season enters its final stretch, coinciding with the last international break of the campaign. Unsurprisingly, several Black Cats players rank among the top 25 performers in the Championship based on statistical ratings.

With just over two months remaining before the season concludes, Sunderland’s presence in the rankings is a testament to their progress. Among the league’s top-rated players, Trai Hume (7.17) and Romaine Mundle (7.03) have been particularly impressive, while Jobe Bellingham (7.00) also makes the list. The rankings, compiled by statistical analysts, are led by Norwich City’s Borja Sainz (7.26), with Leeds United’s Junior Firpo (7.22) and QPR’s Jimmy Dunne (7.18) also featuring prominently.

As the race for promotion continues, Sunderland’s key players will need to maintain their strong performances to give the club the best possible chance of securing a return to the Premier League.
