The American investment group, which struck a deal in principle to assume control of Rangers earlier this year, are planning to wrap up the final paperwork by summer. One of their earliest priorities will be appointing a permanent manager, with Barry Ferguson currently steering the ship in a caretaker capacity. While Ferguson has steadied the team, the 49ers reportedly want a fresh face to lead a new era – and could provide up to £25 million in backing for summer recruitment.
Among the first transfer decisions may be to secure winger Vaclav Cerny on a permanent basis following a promising loan stint from VfL Wolfsburg. The Czech international has expressed a clear desire to remain at Ibrox, saying, *“I definitely do [want to stay]. But there are many factors out of my control. All I can do is perform well and keep my numbers strong.”*
However, while new faces may arrive, several existing ones could make way – and club captain James Tavernier is now the highest-profile name reportedly under scrutiny.
Tavernier’s Future in Doubt Amid Ibrox Restructure

Despite still being under contract until 2026 and earning a reported £30,000 per week, the long-serving right-back could be sold to free up funds and initiate a new leadership era.
