“No Reason to Leave” – Rocco Reitz Dismisses Brighton Transfer Rumours, Reaffirms Commitment to Gladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s rising star Rocco Reitz has effectively quashed speculation linking him with a summer move to Brighton & Hove Albion, or any other club, stating he has no desire to leave his long-time team.

In a fresh interview with SportBILD, the 22-year-old midfielder made it clear he doesn’t see any compelling reason to consider an exit from the Bundesliga side. Despite being on the radar of several clubs following a standout season — including reported interest from Premier League giants Manchester City and Brighton — Reitz remains focused on his current club.

Brighton’s name entered the conversation in December, amid claims they had joined the list of admirers monitoring Reitz’s progress. The German international has a release clause of €20 million, though it only becomes active in 2026. Speculation continues around the Seagulls possibly needing midfield reinforcements in the near future, especially with Carlos Baleba among those who could attract attention this summer.

Regardless, Reitz appears unfazed by the rumours. He reaffirmed his loyalty to Gladbach, highlighting his deep-rooted connection with the club where he’s spent over 15 years of his life.

“At the moment, there’s nothing stopping me from staying,” Reitz said. “I’ve been at this club for more than 15 years, I feel incredibly comfortable, and I know everyone here. I really can’t think of any reason to make other plans.”
