Tony Bloom Tables £10m Hearts Investment as Foundation of Hearts Faces Key Stakeholder Vote

Brighton & Hove Albion owner Tony Bloom has officially proposed a major financial injection into Heart of Midlothian, offering nearly £10 million in exchange for a significant minority stake in the Edinburgh club. The deal would see Bloom acquire a 29% holding through non-voting shares, meaning he would have no direct influence over club decisions despite the substantial investment.

The proposal has now triggered a formal consultation with the Foundation of Hearts (FoH), the supporters’ group that holds the majority of the club’s shares following the transfer of ownership from Ann Budge. The FoH board will present Bloom’s offer to its members and gather feedback before initiating a vote. Approval from a majority of FoH members is required for the proposal to proceed.

Hearts have already been utilizing Bloom’s data-driven company, Starlizard, particularly through Jamestown Analytics, which has provided analytical support to the club in recent months. The proposed investment is seen as a potential catalyst for further modernization at Tynecastle, especially as the club continues its search for a new manager.

Should FoH members back the move, the club will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to finalize the agreement, which remains subject to legal documentation, Scottish FA approval, and other standard regulatory checks.
