Despite Leicester’s confirmed drop to the Championship, Forest’s task may not be as straightforward as it appears. On paper, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would seem favourites to take all three points at the City Ground. But according to former Forest captain Roy Keane, fans should brace themselves for the unexpected.
Appearing on the *Stick To Football* podcast alongside Gary Neville, Ian Wright, and other pundits, Keane shared his weekend predictions. When it came to Forest vs Leicester, Neville quickly offered a confident “2-1 Forest” prediction. Keane, however, took a more cautious tone, cryptically stating, “I think there’s a twist.”
He elaborated that with Ruud van Nistelrooy reportedly lined up to take charge of Leicester next season, the players might be especially motivated to impress — potentially upsetting Forest’s rhythm.
Despite his initial hesitancy, Keane ultimately predicted a 2-0 win for his former club, aligning somewhat with Forest’s performance in the reverse fixture back in October, when they ran out 3-1 winners. That game saw Chris Wood in top form, netting twice and showing the kind of predatory finishing that’s been sporadic this season.
While Wood’s recent performances have been underwhelming — as seen in his lackluster display against Palace — his earlier heroics against Leicester provide a glimmer of hope. His brace at the King Power included a clinical turn-and-finish and a composed header over the keeper, performances that Forest will hope he can replicate as they push for safety.
