Julio Enciso’s future at Brighton & Hove Albion looks increasingly uncertain, with his agent Pedro Aldave confirming that discussions regarding a potential transfer are on the horizon.
In a new interview with Versus, Aldave addressed the growing speculation surrounding Enciso’s next move. The 20-year-old Paraguayan international spent the latter half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town, where he earned consistent minutes despite the team’s relegation. His performances impressed, but it appears there may be no clear path back into the Brighton first team under new head coach Fabian Hürzeler.
Enciso has been linked heavily with Portuguese giants FC Porto in recent days, with reports claiming he has already reached a personal agreement with the club. However, no deal has been struck with Brighton regarding a transfer fee, meaning the situation remains unresolved for now.
Speaking candidly about his client’s future, Aldave confirmed that while Enciso will report back to Brighton as required, a permanent move away remains firmly on the table.
“He’s going to return, he has to return, but one possibility is that he’ll leave in this transfer window,” Aldave said, hinting that further talks with the Seagulls are imminent.
Given Brighton’s current midfield depth and their long-term squad strategy, it seems increasingly likely that Enciso will be moved on — especially if a satisfactory offer arrives. With Porto ready to pounce and other clubs reportedly circling, the young midfielder could soon be set for a fresh chapter abroad.
