Transfer Storm Brews as European Giants Battle for Brighton Star – Buonanotte’s Future Hangs in the Balance Amid Dortmund & Lyon Talks!

Facundo Buonanotte’s time at Brighton & Hove Albion could be nearing another twist, with two top European clubs now pushing hard to lure the 20-year-old Argentine away from the Premier League.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais are both “in active talks” with Brighton to sign the attacking midfielder.

Dortmund have intensified their pursuit after facing obstacles in securing a permanent deal for Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka, while Lyon—battling financial constraints and even facing relegation threats earlier this summer—are keen to get a deal approved as quickly as possible.

Buonanotte, who joined the Seagulls in 2023 from Rosario Central, initially impressed in the Premier League, making 27 appearances during his debut season.

He was later loaned out to Leicester City, where his talent flickered brightly despite a turbulent season under multiple managers.

At Leicester, Buonanotte featured in 35 matches, netting six goals and providing three assists. For much of the campaign, he stood out as one of the few creative sparks in a struggling team.

However, his influence waned under Ruud van Nistelrooy, with his role diminishing as the season drew to a close.

Now, with two years remaining on his Brighton contract, the young playmaker is once again the subject of serious transfer speculation.

Dortmund reportedly see him as a suitable alternative in their midfield rebuild, while Lyon are desperate for offensive reinforcements amid a challenging financial climate.

Should Brighton choose to sanction the move, this could mark a pivotal moment in Buonanotte’s development—either reigniting his rise on the continent or further clouding his future depending on how negotiations unfold.

One thing is certain: his next move could define the trajectory of his promising career.
