The Welsh international is entering the final year of his contract, and according to Football Insider, Fulham are ready to sell in January rather than risk losing him for free in the summer.
Initially signed from Liverpool for around £12m in 2021, Wilson could now be available at a fraction of that price.
Wilson fits the profile Wolves need. Despite summer signings like Arias and Fer Lopez, there remains a glaring lack of creativity from wide areas.
While Rodrigo Gomes also carries promise, none of these younger names have yet provided the decisive moments Wolves desperately require.
Wilson, on the other hand, brings proven **Premier League pedigree: 124 appearances, 19 goals, and 14 assists.
His output might not be headline-grabbing, but it demonstrates consistent effectiveness at this level.
Last season’s underlying numbers underline his value. Wilson ranked in the top 15% of wingers per 90 minutes for goals (0.47), expected goals (0.33), shots (3.34), and shots on target (1.32).
He also worked hard defensively, winning 70% of his tackles and over half of his duels — qualities that could be vital in a relegation scrap.
However, Wolves won’t have a free run. Leeds United, who were heavily linked with Wilson in the summer, are expected to revive their interest when the window opens.
That sets up a potential transfer battle, one Wolves may need to win if they are serious about climbing out of danger.
For Wolves, signing Wilson could be the difference between stagnation and survival — a move that offers both quality and experience at a cut-price cost.
