“‘One Call Was Enough!’ Star REVEALS how Regis Le Bris instantly CONVINCED him to join Sunderland”

Wilson Isidor reveals Regis Le Bris phone call convinced him to join Sunderland without hesitation

Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor has lifted the lid on how a single phone call from manager Régis Le Bris convinced him to move to Wearside.

In an interview with Le Parisien, the French forward explained that a lengthy conversation with Le Bris was the decisive factor behind his transfer.

“When coach Régis Le Bris called me, we spoke for almost an hour and a half, and I didn’t hesitate for a single second,” Isidor revealed.

“He was one of the main reasons I came here. He brings everyone along with him.”

The 23-year-old first joined Sunderland on loan from Zenit St Petersburg last summer, with the club paying €750,000 for the deal.

He immediately made his mark, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists across 43 Championship appearances.

His contributions proved vital in Sunderland’s promotion push, including a goal in the playoff semi-final win over Coventry City.

The Black Cats moved quickly to secure him permanently in January, and he has since continued his momentum in the Premier League.

Isidor has already netted three times in his first five matches, including a strike in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last weekend.

The forward also revealed that Le Bris had revisited their past connection during the call, when a potential move to Lorient had fallen through.

“We went back over why it didn’t happen at Lorient. He understood me completely,” Isidor said.

Isidor credited Sunderland’s owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus as well, highlighting his role in trusting him to help lead the club back to the Premier League.

“I’m very happy to have repaid his trust,” he added.
