Everton are stepping up plans to reinforce their attack in 2026, with a familiar Premier League forward emerging as a serious target amid growing concerns over goals at Goodison Park.
David Moyes has overseen encouraging progress this season, with the Toffees heading into Christmas comfortably placed in the top half of the table. However, one problem continues to undermine Everton’s momentum: a shortage of firepower in front of goal.
Summer signing Thierno Barry has yet to truly find his feet, while Beto’s return in front of goal has done little to convince supporters or the coaching staff. In fact, only Nottingham Forest and Wolves have scored fewer goals than Everton across the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, underlining the need for a more reliable striker.
That reality has pushed Everton firmly into the transfer market, and attention has now turned to Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.
According to reports from *CaughtOffside*, Everton are one of three Premier League clubs monitoring Jackson’s situation, alongside Aston Villa and Newcastle United. Interest is not limited to England either, with Atletico Madrid and Napoli also keeping tabs on developments.
Jackson spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bayern Munich, but his spell in Germany has failed to convince the Bundesliga giants. As things stand, Bayern are not expected to activate the £57m purchase option included in the deal, making a permanent move “highly unlikely”.
Chelsea are understood to be open to selling the 24-year-old, potentially giving Everton a rare chance to land a proven Premier League striker at a reduced price. Any move could be helped by Everton’s willingness to cash in on Beto next month, freeing up both squad space and funds.
Despite his struggles in Munich, Jackson has still shown flashes of quality. He has scored five goals in just 542 minutes of action for Bayern this season, but that return has not been enough to displace Harry Kane as the club’s main man.
A return to England now looks the most likely outcome, and Jackson’s Premier League track record could make him an appealing option for Everton supporters. During his time at Chelsea, he made 65 league appearances, registering 24 goals and 10 assists.
Toffees fans will also remember Jackson’s impact against their own side, having scored twice versus Everton — once in Chelsea’s emphatic 6-0 victory and again in last season’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
With Everton desperate for goals and Jackson potentially available below market value, the coming months could see a three-way Premier League battle intensify for the striker’s signature.
