🚨 Everton Eye Cut-Price Jack Grealish Move Amid City Exit Talks
Everton are reportedly intensifying efforts to secure Jack Grealish on a permanent deal from Manchester City, but at a significantly reduced price.
The English international joined Everton on loan last summer after losing his place in Pep Guardiola’s squad at City. Grealish quickly became a fan favorite at Goodison Park and impressed manager David Moyes with his creativity and influence before a foot injury ended his season prematurely.
Despite being sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, Everton are determined to keep the 30-year-old in their ranks. According to Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke, the club is actively negotiating with Manchester City to strike a deal below the current £50 million purchase option.
Grealish first rose to prominence at Aston Villa, earning a high-profile transfer to Manchester City in 2021. While initially key to City’s success, he gradually fell down the pecking order, prompting his temporary move to Everton. During his loan spell, he featured in 22 matches and contributed directly to eight goals, quickly becoming central to Moyes’ plans.
Moyes is reportedly keen to retain Grealish, but Everton are reluctant to trigger the £50 million option. They are instead pushing for a lower fee, with figures around £20 million being discussed.
O’Rourke added: “Everton are in pole position to sign Grealish if he leaves City permanently or on loan. The £50 million option exists, but Everton would like to renegotiate, possibly down to around £20 million. Grealish has no long-term future at Manchester City, and City are open to options for his exit. Talks with Everton are likely, and other clubs will also be monitoring the situation.”
While Everton are prepared to make a £20 million offer, negotiations are ongoing, and his substantial wages could remain a hurdle for the Merseyside side.
