AliousIgor Tudor has endured a difficult start as interim boss of Tottenham Hotspur, losing his first two matches against Arsenal and Fulham. His blunt post-match press conferences have done little to lift the mood around the club.
According to former Spurs scout Mick Brown, speaking to Football Insider, Tudor is unlikely to remain in charge beyond the end of the season — and could even depart earlier if results fail to improve.
Tottenham are understood to be eyeing potential successors, with Mauricio Pochettino viewed as a leading candidate. However, ongoing relegation fears are complicating long-term planning, making it difficult for the club to move decisively.
Tudor has been candid about the challenges facing his side, pointing to a mounting injury list and criticising recent performances. Brown believes those comments reflect a lack of belief within the squad and suggested the interim appointment has not had the desired impact behind the scenes.
He questioned whether Tudor’s lack of Premier League experience made him the right fit for a club of Tottenham’s stature, adding that continued poor results could force the hierarchy into an early change. With relegation a genuine threat, the club’s strategic thinking — including their managerial search — may have to shift significantly.
Who could replace Tudor?
With Tudor’s long-term future in doubt, Spurs are reportedly exploring several managerial options. Alongside Pochettino, Marco Silva is said to be under consideration. Pochettino is currently in charge of the United States national team and is expected to lead them at the upcoming World Cup, while Silva’s contract situation at Fulham could make him attainable in the summer.
Other names linked with the role include Niko Kovač and Andoni Iraola, as Tottenham weigh up their options.
Ultimately, much will depend on how the remainder of the campaign unfolds. Should Spurs slip into the Championship, their ambitions — both on and off the pitch — would be dramatically reshaped.
