AliousTottenham Hotspur entered Thursday night’s clash with rivals Crystal Palace knowing victory was essential after consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Fulham.
The pressure had already increased before kick-off. Nottingham Forest had held Manchester City to a draw, while West Ham United beat Fulham the previous night, leaving Spurs just a point clear in the Premier League relegation battle.
There had been optimism among Tottenham supporters that Igor Tudor could revive the form of Randal Kolo Muani. The French forward had struggled badly earlier in the season and was even linked with a winter transfer move, but Tudor had previously worked well with him at Juventus.
However, Kolo Muani delivered another disappointing performance against Palace, doing little to suggest he could lead the line effectively for Spurs.

Kolo Muani endured another difficult evening, failing to make an impact in attack and continuing a run of underwhelming displays that has frustrated many supporters.
Micky van de Ven (CB)
Van de Ven’s sending-off proved to be a turning point in the match. His dismissal left Spurs with ten men and significantly weakened their chances of mounting a comeback.
Conor Gallagher (CM)
Conor Gallagher struggled to influence the game after coming on following Van de Ven’s red card. His introduction did little to stabilize Tottenham’s midfield during a chaotic period of the match.
Guglielmo Vicario (GK)
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario avoided the harshest criticism but was still unable to prevent Palace from scoring three times, adding to Tottenham’s defensive frustrations.
The defeat deepened Tottenham’s crisis and left them facing a tense battle to avoid relegation as the season enters its final stretch.
